inDrive Launches First-Ever Regional EV Fleet in the Philippines, Starting in Baguio City

Partnership with DDGNS and Transrev supports Baguio’s eco-transport goals amid growing tourist demand

Baguio City, Philippines | 10 September 2025 — Global mobility and urban services platform inDrive is launching the Philippines’ first-ever regional electric vehicle (EV) fleet in Baguio City, marking a significant step toward sustainable urban transportation.

This pioneering project is a collaboration with Device Design Green And Smart (DDGNS) Corporation, a leading EV dealer, and Transrev Documentation and Transport Services, a key local fleet partner. Together, they aim to offer Baguio a cleaner, greener alternative for daily commuting and travel.

The initiative comes at a pivotal time. Baguio’s tourism industry has seen a strong rebound, with the Department of Tourism – Cordillera reporting a 19.08% increase in tourist arrivals in 2024. The growing demand for efficient and eco-friendly mobility solutions makes this launch both timely and impactful.

“Over the past year, we’ve seen a growing appetite among passengers and drivers in the Philippines for more sustainable transport options,” said Vanessa Taqueban, Driver Operations Lead for inDrive Philippines.

“Our partnership with DDGNS and Transrev is just the beginning of a more equitable, eco-friendly transport ecosystem for Baguio — and hopefully, beyond.”

100 EVs by September, 1,000 by 2026

The initial rollout will see 100 EVs on Baguio’s streets by September 15, 2025, with an ambitious goal of expanding the fleet to 1,000 EVs by 2026. The move supports local operators eager to transition to electric mobility and contributes directly to Baguio City’s net-zero emissions target by 2050.

Compared to traditional vehicles, EVs emit just 50 g/km of CO₂, significantly lower than petrol (165 g/km) and diesel (170 g/km) cars.

5th Asia-Pacific Market to Deploy inDrive EVs

The Philippines is now the fifth APAC country to adopt inDrive’s EV initiative, joining India, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Thailand. This expansion reinforces inDrive’s commitment to building sustainable transport systems in major urban areas worldwide.

Benefits for Drivers and Riders

EV adoption offers a win-win for both drivers and commuters. Partner drivers benefit from lower maintenance and fuel costs, translating to higher earnings and greater operational efficiency. Commuters, meanwhile, enjoy a quieter, smoother ride enhanced by modern features such as regenerative braking, responsive steering, advanced suspension, and intuitive handling.

“Excited kami sa partnership na ito with inDrive and DDGNS. Sa wakas, may electric vehicles na para sa riding public dito sa Baguio,” said Jun De Leon, President of Laban TNVS and owner of Transrev Documentation and Transport Services.

“We’re hitting two birds with one stone — we’re improving earnings and performance for our inDrive partner drivers while also helping reduce Baguio’s carbon emissions. The future of eco-friendly transport in the city is bright — and this is just the beginning.”

As the EV fleet hits the road, inDrive reaffirms its mission to lead the charge toward greener, smarter mobility in the Philippines.
